2021-22A poor winter for natural snow in Minnesota. The resorts opened on schedule on snow they made themselves, but terrain came slowly: Buck Hill had six of its sixteen runs open on 3 December, and Trollhaugen ran a part-week schedule into the new year without ever announcing normal hours.

2023-24The latest start on record here. Coffee Mill did not turn a lift until 14 January, after posting "still currently closed", "Waiting for Cold!" and "Still Waiting for Cold Weather!" through December. Trollhaugen opened on 2 November and shut again four days later: "Mother Nature wins this round."
